By 1958, the number of Drive-In movie theaters
peaked at 4,000 nationwide. Some added carnival rides
and miniature golf to help keep kids entertained.
By 1977, the number of drive-in theaters had dipped below
3,000, partly because Congress established national
daylight-saving time in 1966, forcing outdoor cinemas to
start films an hour later and clobbering attendance by
families with small children.
The rise of videocassettes, cable TV, DVD, DVR, TiVo,
and multiplex theaters compounded the industry's woes, as
did skyrocketing land values. Today, drive-ins are an
endangered species, numbering about 400.
Outdoor cinema is now affordable and cost effective!
With our in the park movies, just about any community can
enjoy an outdoor movie on a big screen under the moonlight
and stars without breaking the bank. And we mean any
community, from the big cities, to the backyard .
Outdoor cinema movie package rental
Our team can set up the equipment during the day, show the
DVD or VHS movie in the evening and be gone by the morning.
So all you are left with is a happy and appreciative crowd
and all at a very affordable price.
The rental of an outdoor cinema makes for a great community
event
Isn’t it time your community came together, got out the
picnic blankets and deckchairs for a big night of outdoor
movies. And we mean BIG! Up to 15x20 feet wide fastfold,
high-tech, rear projection screen, BIG is what you get! We
also have 12x16, 10.5x14, 9x12, or 8x8 tripod screens) And
to give your outdoor movie night even more impact, coupled
with the big screen is a powerful projector and a big sound
system that can deliver true move theater sound!
Outdoor cinema rentals on a budget
Then rent our economy package with a 8x8
tripod screen and 2300 lumen DLP bright portable projector
with 2 175 watt JBL speakers. If you have a small crowd or a
small venue we can supply an outdoor or indoor movie event
to fit your budget. It’s still a great night with a smaller
screen and sound system – if you call a 8x8 foot screen
small!
Mobile outdoor cinema means everyone can enjoy the
experience
Outdoor cinema has proven incredibly popular at large,
semi-permanent venues in the capital cities, so why
shouldn’t the people of regional cities and towns enjoy the
experience as well? If you’re a council and would like a
show for your community, give us a call. Or if you’re a
volunteer body, community group, sports club, little league
or a student union and you want to have a night of picnic
and movies to raise funds, be it in the country or a city
park, we can do it. As long as you have a venue, we can show
your movie.
Corporate outdoor movie events
For your next big product launch, how about an outdoor movie
night on a warm summer evening for maximum bang for your
corporate budget? With our high-tech rear projection
equipment you can stand in front of the screen without
getting blinded by the light of the projector or casting a
shadow on the screen. Present your new product, follow that
with a classic or new film, all while your clients and
customers (who you didn’t have to beg to come attend)
recline on a blanket sipping champagne. We can also do this
for your corporate function? We can put on a show to suit in
a park, garden or company grounds.
It’s not just about seeing a movie, outdoor cinema is a true
community event
The portability of our portable projection screens and
projectors with great sound systems means we can visit any
city and allow the people to relive the drive-ins of the
fifties or to stretch out on a blanket under the stars and
enjoy a new movie or a famous classic on the big screen.
It’s not just about seeing a movie, it’s a social event,
where people can meet up and have a night of fun, drama,
action or nostalgia.
So, come on, put on a show for your community, little
league, boy or girl scout camp, club, school, university, or
any social or corporate gathering as, lets face it, there is
nowhere on earth more perfect for watching a movie under the
cool summer night watching the stars on the silver screen
while under the stars of a night sky.

These are some
of the following specifications that may make your decision in
what projector is right for you
1. Brightness (Ansi Lumens):
Projectors come in a wide range of light output. All other
things being equal, the brighter the projector, the more it
costs. When it comes to "optimum brightness" the rule is simple:
Get the brightest projector you can afford.
Brightness is measured in ANSI (American National Standards
Institute) lumens: the brighter the projector, the higher the
ANSI lumen rating.
In today’s market, projectors can be grouped by ANSI lumen
output as follows:
2000 to 3000 lumens – this represents the high-performance range
of the portable and semi-portable projectors. Products in this
class are suitable for large conference rooms, Large classrooms
and Really lit Home theater. They offer more flexibility in
terms of ambient room light, since the image is bright enough
that a reasonable amount of room light can be tolerated without
washing out the image. They also offer more flexibility in terms
of audience size since they can illuminate a larger screen
without much loss of image quality.
3000 lumens and up – the ultra-bright projectors are in several
performance classes unto themselves, ranging from 3000 up to
12000 lumens or more. Prices of these products also cover a wide
range depending on other performance characteristics. They are
used in a variety of large venue applications, including board
rooms, conference rooms, training rooms, auditoriums, churches,
concerts, nightclubs, and so forth. |

Sanyo XP56/L XGA
5000 Lumens (.8
lens)
The Sanyo PLC XP56 projector is designed to be
installed in large venues such as auditoriums, lecture theatres and
large conference rooms. The Sanyo PLC XP56 projector at 9.2kg is a
heavy projector and is ideally ceiling mounted in one location. If you
are planning to keep moving the projector between locations, then
consider a lighter projector instead.
The brightness of a projector determines how
large an image can be displayed on screen and therefore the audience
size. Projector brightness is measured in ANSI lumens. The higher the
number of ANSI lumens, the brighter the projector is. All our
projectors are designed for indoor use and cannot be used in direct
sunlight. The Sanyo PLC XP56 has 5000 ANSI lumens which is extremely
bright so that images can be projected onto screens which can easily
be seen by many hundreds of people.
This projector is for use with computers that
display a 1024x768 pixel image. You can check the resolution of your
computer on a Windows computer by opening the Control Panel and
double-clicking on the Display icon. Then click on the Settings tab.
The 1024x768 (XGA) resolution is currently the most commonly used.
The Sanyo PLC XP56 projector can be used with
video recorders, DVD players, video cameras, satellite systems, TV
games consoles and other video sources.
This projector has built-in sound but this gives
limited volume. If high quality or high volume sound is required then
consider connecting to an amplifier or surround sound system (home
cinema or professional). Computer sound can be played through the
existing computer speakers which is normally adequate for computer
presentations in small rooms. |

The PLC-XF40 from Sanyo -
one of the world's largest and most successful manufacturers of LCD
projectors - is a truly professional, high-end device for fixed
installations. A brightness of 7700 ANSI lumens and 700 : 1 contrast
ratio guarantee powerful presentations. The PLC-XF40 is ideally suited
for fixed installations in very large presentation rooms and movie
theaters. Thanks to its powerful brightness, this projector is also
suited for open-air broadcasts of sporting events and large events in
broad daylight as well as for the projection of large-scale
advertisements at airports or train stations. The resolution of 1024 x
768 pixels (XGA) can even be increased to SXGA or UXGA resolution
levels using DRIT (Digital Realized Interpolation Technology). A new
4-lamp system with four 200W lamps ensures fail-safe operation, if one
of the 4 lamps fails, the projector switches to 2-lamp operation
automatically. The available range of optional lenses is the same as
with previous models; all of these lenses can be used without
difficulty with the PLC-XF40 as well. With the power shift function,
users can vary the position of the lens to the screen by up to 100%
vertically. Various high-end connectors are available for use in a
professional environment. The component interface for high-quality
video transmission - using separate red, green and blue transmission -
produces very sharp images with extremely accurate color quality. The
DVI interface provides a direct connection between the digital image
source and the projector. Loss of signal quality during transmission
is now a thing of the past. The new progressive scan system also
ensures an excellent video image. DVD and HDTV compatibility is also
included with the PLC-XF40 of course. Additional functions like
Freeze, Digital Zoom and No Show round off the extensive list of
features of this projector. |
